The Light of Dedication [Ep. 27]
Hanukkah.
When the miracle happened in the Temple…
Do you think the whole menorah lit up for 8 days?
Or just one light per day?
Do you think it was a 9 branch menorah or a 7?
The history of Hanukkah is so rich and full, and throughout the scriptures we see what the temple menorah was like and how it was to be constructed. This episode shares some beautiful insights about the menorah and the symbolism of it. Jesus/Yeshua also celebrated Hanukkah and it is spoken of in the book of John, so we too can commemorate this amazing miracle that happened where one day of oil stayed burning for 8 days. There are many miracles God has done through the years to preserve the line of the Messiah. Hanukkah is one of those miracles. It is called the Feast of Dedication because Hanukkah means Dedication in Hebrew. Come and listen to some of the beautiful parallels we can attribute to our lives from the symbolism of Hanukkah.
Listen and explore the meaning behind the beautiful history of Hanukkah.
Exodus 25:31, 37
“You shall also make a lampstand of pure gold; the lampstand shall be of hammered work. Its shaft, its branches, its bowls, its ornamental knobs, and flowers shall be of one piece.
You shall make seven lamps for it, and they shall arrange its lamps so that they give light in front of it.
This episode challenges some of the traditions of Hanukkah and some of the biblical history and how we can honor the Lord in the remembrance of this amazing and momentous miracle that happened in Israel in the first century.
John 10:22-23
Now it was the Feast of Dedication in Jerusalem, and it was winter.
And Jesus walked in the temple, in Solomon’s porch.
