Lockdown, Desperation, and Decisions – with Ron Cantor from Israel [EP. 34]
Desperate Times
Can Influence Desperate Decisions
Israel is in the midst of desperate times with recurring lockdowns, talks of forced vaccination, and people are resorting to desperate measures. Desperate decisions are being made as many people’s jobs are eroding with the lockdowns affecting restaurants, businesses and more. The people are resorting to theft in order to feed their families.
Desperation can influence decisions whether good or bad. The consequences of making bad decisions are great and can be very widespread and long lasting. Think of Sarah’s influence upon Abraham and how he chose to yield to her and the resulting consequences of the child with Hagar that resulted. In the same way, good decisions can have a positive impact as well. Think of Esther and her choice and how her fearless choice was used for the saving of the Jewish people.
How do we make good decisions under pressure? We can follow God’s ways outlined in the scripture.
Proverbs 14:12
“There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.”
Proverbs 3:5-6
“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.”
